The Amendments to the Law of Ukraine on the Presidential Elections concerning organization of work of election commissions prevent disruption of the elections. It was declared by Oleksandr Lavrynovych, the First Deputy Chairman on the First National Television Channel giving comments concerning the relevant Bill adopted by the Parliament in the first reading.
O. Lavrynovych is convinced that the Parliament would scrutinize the mentioned above Bill in the second reading before the second round of the elections: "These norms concerns the conduction of the second election round that would be held 7 February, we do not need such a decision to be adopted for the perspective."
The First Deputy Chairman expressed hope that "probably, in future there will be no need for such norms" as "there will be no such politicians and candidates for the presidential office that make everything possible not to prepared themselves for the elections but to disrupt them."
O. Lavrynovych explained the principle of the formation and work of the election commissions pursuant to the suggested amendments: "If now the commissions are formed on the par principles by two candidates and suddenly one of the candidates resolves that his representatives spot their work in the commission, it will not disrupt the work of the commission. The commission will continue working."
"Despite any attempts of certain candidate for the post of the President of Ukraine to suspend the defeat, the elections in Ukraine will be held and the new President will occupy its office in the term defined by the Law", - O. Lavrynovych stated.
