Over 500 ancient warriors from Ukraine, Poland, Russia, France and Belarus dressed in medieval armor from head to toe, will clash their swords during the ‘Heroic epics of Rus of IX-XI centuries’ international festival at the Kyivan Rus theme park located outside Kyiv.
For two days, on August 28-29, guests of the festival will be able to take part in more than 10 ancient heroic epics of Kyivan Rus spread over the 50 hectares of land the park occupies.
Watching the battles is the simplest option available.
You can also learn some battle techniques, try on a floor-length robe or an ancient dress, taste the local cuisine as it had been in the Middle Ages, engage in archery or horse riding, as well as visit an exhibition of ancient clothes and shop for handmade crafts.
For the very first time in Ukraine’s history the unique ancient royal dresses, both male and female, were reconstituted and will be presented at the festival.
Female soccer fans could easily put their skills to use at the international women’s soccer championship, which will also take place in the park. After sunset, guests will dance around the fire, and ethnic disco dancing will start to the beat of the drums.
