The European Commission pays attention to absence of progress of Ukraine in fulfillment of the Action Plan on Liberalization of Visa Regime.
It is said in the letter of deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin to first Vice Prime Minister Andriy Klyuev. A photo-copy of the letter is publicized by Ukrainska Pravda.
The diplomat says that the Foreign Ministry together with the European institutions prepare a second assessment of progress of Ukraine in fulfillment of the Action Plan on Liberalization of Visa Regime.
“In this context the European Commission and the European External Action Service pay attention to absence of the progress in fulfillment of some key tasks that remain within a framework of the First phase of the plan and it can have a negative effect on content of the final version of the second assessment”, notes P. Klimkin.
According to his words, European officials noted an absence of the progress in three directions: adoption of the law, which introduces biometric passports for exit from the country; adoption of the law on forming a separate anti corruption body; approval of the Strategy of struggle against discrimination in Ukraine and adoption of a separate anti-discriminatory law
